Licensed respiratory professionals from Classic SleepCare will be conducting a Mask Fit & Comfort Clinic at this Manhattan A.W.A.K.E. meeting. Classic SleepCare’s Executive Chairman, Rob Brough, will also be speaking at the meeting. Rob will explain why he believes CSC is different than other DME companies and will give an overview of Classic SleepCare’s CPAP Circle of Care[SM] Program…how it benefits both CPAP patients and their referring physicians.
Using CPAP and suffer from mask fit and comfort problems?
The truth is that too many sleep apnea patients never fully enjoy the benefits of their therapy because they give up too soon. Around 50% of those problems are associated with mask fit and comfort, which in most cases can be solved by help from a trained professional.
You should definitely take the time to attend the clinic if:- - you are suffering from a skin irritation or you have pressure sores from using your mask
- - your mask does not fit properly
- - your mask leaks causing you to wake up interrupting what would have otherwise been a good nights sleep
- - you wake up suffering from a runny or dry nose, nose bleeds or dry mouth
- - you have a claustrophobic feeling when wearing your mask or wake up feeling bloated
- - you suffer from any other mask fit or comfort issue.
Classic SleepCare will be showcasing all of the latest masks including: Respironics’ True Blue nasal mask and Go Life nasal pillows for Men & Woman; ResMed’s Mirage FX (Him & Her) nasal masks, Bella headgear for the SWIFT FX (Him & Her) and the Quattro FX full face mask. Plus many more.
We realize that everyone has different issues when using their CPAP as well as different sleep habits. Our goal through this clinic is to address your individual needs with a personalized solution that ensures you get a great nights sleep every night – without mask fit and comfort problems, so that you can wake up feeling rested ready for a new day. -

- Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome, or UARS, is a relatively new diagnosis not yet widely accepted by the medical community. Although related to Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and a cause of fragmented, poor sleep just like OSA, UARS is subtly different from its OSA cousin. Come to this session to gain an understanding of UARS: the difficulties you might face in getting it diagnosed, treatment options, and the perils of letting this diagnosis slip through the cracks. If you've never heard of UARS or don't know much about the condition, you won't want to miss this meeting.

- If surgery for Sleep Apnea is not a controversial topic for you, then you need to attend this session... it should be. Surgery is often held out as a "cure" for Sleep Apnea, but is rarely that, with surgical success defined by many surgeons as some degree of improvement of Sleep Apnea symptoms, even if an individual is left with life-threatening pauses in breathing. As surgeons who routinely operate on Sleep Apnea patients, Drs. Park and Liberatore will present the case for surgery, its limitations, and who might be good candidates. If you've had surgery or have ever contemplated having it for Sleep Apnea symptoms, don't miss this session.

- CPAP is the gold-standard treatment for Sleep Apnea. And it's 100% effective, IF used properly. But that is a big if. Typically, about half those who attempt to use CPAP fall off the wagon and stop using it. Even if folks are using it, using it properly and comfortably are formidable obstacles for many of us.
